My recent travels....

Well, I left the sales conference in Minneapolis, MN on Friday at noon.  We took a car service to the airport 2 1/2 hours before our flight just to be on the safe side.  I got out of the car to be face to face with a high powered riffle and a pretty serious looking National Guard.  I have NEVER seen a military guy in full gear and certainly not carrying a gun.  There were tons of dogs and security around and everyone was a little tense.  I knew from the news what NOT to carry on and checked my bag with all my girly stuff and got in line at security.  I always get nervous in those types of situations.  I forgot to take off my jewelry one time, didn't take off my shoes another, pull out my laptop, etc.  This time though, I was prepared, laptop out, prescriptions ready, shoes and jewelry off, check check check.  I went through the detector without incident and got all my stuff but on my LAST bag the belt stopped and I heard the dreaded, "Bag check!"  The guy walked over and looked at the camera and there were three people turning their heads like my Mojo trying to make out what was in my bag.  I was a little nervous.  Did I forget a tube of chapstick, I mean I carry 15 million of them on me at all times.  So, the guy grabbed my bag and brought me and my bag to a security station away from the main line.  My boss and another representative had already gone through and were standing their waiting on me.  I wasn't sure whether to help the guy figure out all the zips and hidden compartments of my bag or just shut up and so I just stood their like I was at boot camp and just waiting for him to ask me a question.  He looked all through my bag and then took my bag and all of the removed items back to the scanner and ran them through almost individually.  Good thing my last clean pair of underwear and bra were in the bag that DIDN'T get dinged.  I was carrying on my clothes because I had to put all my girly stuff and crap I got from the conference in my checked bag.  I thought it would be harder to explain compass keychains, etch-a-sketch keychain, empty CD case, 10,000 logo pens and fuzzy bobble heads.  So all of my separate items went through ok and he brought back all my things and put them on the table.  I asked him what was the item that caught their attention and it was by banana leftover from my hotel continental breakfast.  When I told Photodd.  When I finally got home to Nashville and he met me at the baggage claim, he said, "Is that a banana in your luggage or are you just happy to see me?"  =)
